Electrical-Industrial Control Engineer

Title: Electrical-Industrial Controls Engineer
Location: Farmington, MI

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, test and debug automation equipment.
  • Design, maintain and update controls documentation, including print packages, BOM’s etc.
  • Review and make PLC program changes.
  • Work with Supervisors/Project Managers to evaluate, modify, update machine/assembly PLC programs and obtain approval for program changes.
  • Investigate and resolve issues associated with assembly automation, work stations, robotics, and automated equipment.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum years of experience with controls programming required.
  • PLC programming proficiency – Siemens and/or E-plan and/or Rockwell and/or ControlLogix.
  • Experience with either of the above mentioned skills required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, or related field required. Robotics, Machining, Assembly lines and Conveyor experience nice to have.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (25-30%).

Electrical/Electrician Technician

Title: Electrical/Electrician Technician
Location: Farmington Hills, MI

Job Purpose
Responsible for wiring, installing, and repairing electrical control systems from a technical blueprint.

Primary Responsibilities:

An electrician performs a wide range of duties such as:

  • Read and comprehend technical blueprints and diagrams
  • Understand controls drawings
  • Efficient in wiring control panels
  • Install, maintain, and or repair electrical components
  • Wire three phase motors
  • Wire and install cable trays
  • Wiring pushbutton enclosures
  • Laying out enclosure back plates
  • Routing and clamping switch cords
  • Process wire terminating
  • Properly drill and tape wires
  • Operate various machine tools and equipment needed
  • Troubleshoot and debug electrical issues using testing devices
  • Follows all safety requirements and regulations
  • Communicates any safety concerns
  • Perform and assist with other duties as assigned
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies

Qualifications

  • Must be able to focus and concentrate to ensure safety and quality of work
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized
  • Must have own hand tools and toolbox
  • Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Power Point), Outlook, and Brady Software
  • Trained and authorized to operate forklift
  • Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player and contribute to building a positive environment
  • Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must adhere to all company policies as communicated
  • Ability to work over-time to meet project deadlines
  • Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Education
High school diploma, technical certification or equivalent education required

Experience
Minimum of two years of electrical build or technical experience

Work Conditions
This job operates in a shop environment, with daily exposure to machinery and potential non-hazardous chemicals and lubricants. Machine noise may escalate when testing.

Physical Requirements
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs., with greater lifting requirements being done with an overhead crane if needed. Requires moving around machines and tight spaces.

Direct Reports
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel
Traveling on-site to customers location may be required

Mechanical Engineer

Title : Mechanical Design Engineer
Location : Farmington Hills, MI

Responsibilities:

  • Design custom machinery, automotive tooling and custom testing equipment.
  • Design robotic end effectors, pick and place, product transfer and indexing systems.
  • Design weldments, extruded structures, conveyor systems and lift assists.
  • Interact with manufacturing to revise, design, detail drawings and prints for fabrication/assembly.
  • Investigate and resolve issues associated with assembly automation, work stations, robotics, and automated equipment.

Required Skills:

  • Must have Solidworks proficiency
  • Solidworks PDM works nice to have
  • Solidworks advanced modeling
  • Strong written / oral communication skills
